JAMB To Stop Paper Pencil Test (PPT) By 2015
The Joint admission and Matriculation board has announced that it would no longer be conducting Paper Pencil Test (PPT) exams as from 2015. The Registrar, Professor Ojerinde, said the Paper-Pencil-Test (PPT) would be phased out as a result of malpractice, fraud, logistic problems and insecurity. Professor Ojerinde, said “We are not going back to PPT anymore; This is the end of PPT in the country. PPT was full of malpractice, fraud, logistic problems and insecurity. So we do not want to go back to it; we now have a solution with the introduction of CBT. We are forging ahead with it” He added by saying the board uses over 98 vehicles for the distribution of exam materials to centers, and this doesn’t guarantee the security and safety of the material but in the case of CBT there are already over 156 CBT centers nationwide. He made all this known to the public on Friday at the commissioning of a N150 million Computer Based Test (CBT) centre in Kogo Bwari, Abuja. He also spoke on issues of multiple registrations by some candidates He said “The new policy is that any candidate who engages in multiple registration will be banned for 3 years”.
