APMSO demands more Engineering Universities in Sindh

All Pakistan Muttahida Students Organization(APMSO) urged upon President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to establish new government engineering universities in Sindh particularly Karachi due to the increasing demand of engineering education in Pakistan.

There are only two major government engineering institutes in Karachi,NED and Dawood College of Engineering and Technology(DCET).NED offers around two thousand seats for its various faculties for all the students where as there are around 170 seats only for Karachi students in DCET.Most students can not afford the tution fees of private varsities of Karachi so there is an urgent need to establish new engineering universities in Karachi so that the students can get more chances to study in the engineering programs.

All Educational Institutions will remain closed from 8th to 10th Muharram

Sindh Government announced public holiday on 8th,9th and 10th Muharram(November 23-25) in Karachi.All schools,colleges and universities will remain closed from tomorrow for 3 days.Earlier,Private Schools Association announced the closure of private schools from 8th to 10th Muharram in Karachi.

Government claimed to have foolproof arrangements for the Ashura processions and majalis in Karachi.Mobile services may also be suspended from tomorrow.

Inter Part I Exams Form Submission Schedule

Board of Intermediate Education,Karachi has announced the schedule of forms submission of Annual Exams 2013 HSC Part I.

Pre-Medical,Pre-Engineering,General,Commerce,Humanities,Home Economics and Medical Techology students can submit their forms from November 19 to December 12,2012 in their respective colleges.Last date of form submission with late fees is February 4,2013.
Commerce and Humanities Private students can submit their forms with in the same duration as above in the Board Office,Karachi.For more information contact your college.

Bike Riding/Mobile Services Banned

Rehman Malik has banned the motorcycle riding in Karachi from 6 a.m to 7 p.m tomorrow.Mobile services will also remain blocked from 10 a.m to 5 p.m.Thousands of students will have to suffer tomorrow due to these problems.All citizens are advised to take all their documents before leaving their homes tomorrow.Authorities has been directed to increase the availability of Public Transport tomorrow.

After a very long delay,Sindh Education Department has finally announced the result of SECCAP 2014.Computer Science and Home Economics results have been announced and the merit lists have been uploaded on the SECCAP website.

HEC Degree Verification started in Karachi

Higher Education Commission(HEC) has started the degree verification in Karachi Regional Centre.Earlier,Karachi students had to send their degrees for verification to Islamabad through post because degree verification was not available in Karachi.

Counters have been set up in HEC Karachi centre where students may contact for degree verification.The whole process usually takes 3 days.Balochistan students can also verify their degrees from the Karachi centre as degree verfication is not available in Balochistan yet.HEC Degree verification is currently available in Islamabad,Karachi,Lahore and Peshawar.

Admissions Open - KMDC 2012-2013

Admissions open in Karachi Medical and Dental College(KMDC) for the 2012-2013 Session.

Forms will be available from September 18,2012 to September 29,2012.
Last date of form submission is October 1,2012(upto 2:30 p.m)

Form and prospectus can be purshased at Rs. 1500 from the KMDC.

Total no. of seats for MBBS are 250 and 100 for BDS.

Sindh Medical University(SMU) has been renamed to Jinnah Sindh Medical University by the Sindh Government.

KMDC Admissions 2014-2015

Karachi Medical and Dental College(KMDC) has announced the Admissions for session 2014-2015.Admissions would be given in MBBS and BDS programs.Admission forms can be obtained from Karachi Medical and Dental College(KMDC),Nazimabad from August 27,2014 to September 9,2014.

Last date of form submission is September 11,2014.Admission form and Prospectus will be available for Rs. 2050.Interviews will be held from November 5,2014.

SECCAP Result on September 6

Sindh E-Centralized College Admission Policy(SECCAP) 2014 results will be announced on September 6,2014 as announced by the SECCAP committee however the last date of form submissions was extended to August 28,2014 so results may also get delayed.According to sources,more than 70,000 forms have been submitted online on the SECCAP wesbite.

This year,Sindh government introduced this new system SECCAP where students first have to submit an online form on SECCAP's website and then submit it again with the required documents in the Sindh bank.Students and civil society have criticized this new system mainly because of the technical problems they face while submitting the form online on the website.Students also have to travel long distance to submit the form in Sindh Bank as they don't have many branches in Karachi.

Update:Last date of form submission has been extended for the forth time and now the last date of form submission is September 2,2014 so results may not come on September 6 as it was previously announced.

Due to the delay in whole admission process,classes are expected to start from late September or the first week of October.

Admission Tests of all the Government Medical Institutions of Sindh would be held on October 7 for the MBBS And BDS programmes.

Admissions forms will be available from September 3 to September 17.

CAP/SECCAP Admissions 2014

Govt. of Sindh has renamed the Centralized Admission Policy(CAP) to the new Sindh E-Centralized College Admission Policy(SECCAP) with making the whole process of college admissions online.Total 102,950 seats are offered this year in all the faculties.

24,935 seats are available in Pre-Engineering,38,240 available in Commerce,18,695 for Pre-Medical,1700 for Computer Science,18780 for Humanities and 600 for Home Economics.

Before applying,check the brochure available on SECCAP website to know about the closing percentages of colleges and then choose your college accordingly.

SECCAP Online Admission Process

Students have to submit an online form available at SECCAP website.After submitting the form,a form number will be displayed,note it down,then download the submitted admission form and attach your Admit Card and Matric Marksheet photocopies.Go to your nearest Sindh Bank Branch(List of branches) and submit the form along with a fees chalan of Rs.60.Don't forget to collect your copy from the cashier.

NUST students made a Formula One Car

National University of Sciences and Technology(NUST) Karachi Campus students have made Pakistan's first Formula One car.Total expenditure of the car was Rs 16 lac.Formula One car was made by a group of 29 students including 4 girls.Car will participate in competition at Silver Stone from July 9 - July 13,2014 in London.


Formula One car was unveiled in a ceremony at PNS Bahadur Karachi.



Mr. Shahid Mahmud, CEO- Interactive Group of Companies and Mr. Amer Hashmi-Advisor NUST being the mentors of the Team, motivated the students through their speeches.

All the universities of Sindh will remain closed from May 9 to May 12 due to the Elections 2013,according to a statement issued by the spokesman of Governor of Sindh.
